When I was a kid I felt so excited for Chinese New Year because during that festive season, I got to have new clothes, shoes, received many angpaos (chinese red envelopes) / money and there were so many delicious foods and cookies to eat. However, as I grow older, it is no longer the same as I felt before. The excitement is still there but it is not about receiving money, having new clothes or lots of food but it is about spending quality time with my family – something important that I don’t get to do frequently since I live and work in another country. 

This year I will finally go home for Chinese New Year and I am so excited for that. I am getting myself ready with chinese new year shopping and creating a simple and glam Chinese New Year makeup and hairstyle for the day.
