Last year, my boyfriend ended up staying with me for Christmas. I was glad that I was able to celebrate the amazing time with him but at the same time I know that Christmas in Malaysia would not be the same as in England. So I decided to bring him to a local place that was close enough to feel the Christmas atmosphere. It was Colmar Tropicale resort at Bukit Tinggi, Berjaya Hills.

Colmar Tropicale Resort
We decided to stay for a night in the beautiful French-themed village and resort, Colmar Tropicale. This resort was situated 2700 feet above the sea level and it is owned by Berjaya group. The architecture and building was inspired by the beautiful town of Colmar in the north east of Alsace, France.
Room
Either you travel solo, as a couple or big family, there are many types of room that you can choose. We ended up staying in a superior twin room. The room was quite spacious, better than I had ever thought it would be.
The room was so cozy with a shabby chic design and decorated with vintage style furniture and completed with windows that were facing through to the beautiful colourful buildings view outside that just gave me a feeling like we were in the beautiful town in Europe.

Transportation
How to get to Berjaya Hills? You can drive your own car to Berjaya Hills or else take a shuttle service from the Berjaya Times Square mall at KL. It was just 45 minutes away driving from Kuala Lumpur to Berjaya Hills.
Food
There are 8 food and drink places you can find around the area from local, international to fine dining authentic French cuisines. Check out more here. Be prepared to pay more because the food is quite pricey compared to normal prices in KL.
Price
The superior twin rooms in Colmar Tropicale normally cost around Rm 200 – 300/ night but during Christmas Eve time, the superior twin room that we booked cost around Rm 500++. It was more expensive than the normal price due to Christmas event. The price included the room price, breakfast for 2 people and 2 tickets for the Christmas gala dinner. The event was worth the money because the Christmas gala dinner was really fun and entertaining.
Amenities
This resort also offers a package for wedding photoshoots and wedding ceremonies. Due to the beautiful buildings and architecture design, sometimes some people come here for their wedding photoshoots. You may take a look here if you are interested.

My Thoughts
If you are looking for a short getaway to skip the busy city life, Bukit Tinggi, Berjaya Hills is definitely a good choice as it was just less than an hour from Kuala Lumpur. A day trip to Colmar Tropicale or a trip that is not longer than 2 days will be advisable due to the limited activities around the area that will make you bored easily but I do recommend to stay for a night in Colmar Tropicale to experience fully the surroundings and beauty of Colmar Tropicale and Berjaya Hills.

The place is really similar to the original Colmar in Alsace, France. I couldn’t tell if you didn’t label your photos. Beautiful resort, however I can tell it’s already dated because of the yellowish/grayish something growing on the bathroom tiles. I hope it’s not molds. By the way you have a very interesting site. 🙂

I don’t travel as much as I would like, but the idea of using a bathroom that isn’t mine makes me cringe This one however appeals to see the design of it It goes to show you, sometimes one must pay more for a quality experience! The food looked tasty.
Elvira
